Since the silencing knockdown of DOG1 delayed the growth of GIST xenografts in vivo, analysis of expression profiling of explanted GIST tumors after DOG1 knockdown revealed a strong upregulation in the expression of insulin-like growth factor-binding protein 5 (IGFBP5), which is a potent antiangiogenic factor and a tumor suppressor. Here, IGFBP5 is linked to neoplasm.
