CDKN2A and type 2 diabetes mellitus: The risk allele T of the most significant SNP in the association with T2D, CDKN2A/2B-rs10811661, was associated with a higher glucose level during the OGTT (β (SE) = 0.06 (0.02), P = 9.11×10−3) and a lower insulinogenic index (β (SE) = −0.05 (0.02), P = 0.03), suggesting that the role of this locus in T2D may be mediated through β-cell dysfunction.
