MAP1LC3A and infarction: More importantly, the LC3 lipidation level (LC3II/LC3I ratios) was increased and the autophagy substrate p62 level was decreased in the border zone of miR-99a-treated hearts 4 weeks after MI (Fig. 4F and G), suggesting that miR-99a overexpression leads to an increased autophagic flux and enhanced autophagy in myocytes in response to myocardial ischaemia and infarction.
