FAT1 and familial pancreatic carcinoma: The soluble Fat1 ELISA assay was then applied to a cohort of 30 serum samples from pancreatic cancer patients (patient data are summarized in table S4) and 28 control samples with results showing that the mean levels of soluble Fat1 are increased in pancreatic cancer compared to the normal controls although the difference does not reach statistical significance in this cohort (p = 0.21) (figure 11A).
