In fibrosis, an increase in the expression of collagen-modifying enzymes such as prolyl hydroxylase (e.g. P4H1, P4HB) and lysyl hydroxylase (e.g. PLOD1 and -2) has been shown in e.g. lung and skin fibrosis [48], [49], [50], [51]. The gene discussed is PLOD1; the disease is fibrosis.
