In a double-blind, parallel-group trial by Kaku et al. [48], 264 Japanese patients with type 2 diabetes were randomly given liraglutide, a GLP-1 analogue, with a dosage of 0.6 mg/day, 0.9 mg/day, or placebo combined with SU monotherapy. This evidence concerns the gene GCG and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
