For thyroid cancer, our results remarkably show that hsa-miR-221/222 are overexpressed, consistent with the previous finding (3), and significantly downregulate a large cohort of genes including oncogenes ARID1A, ARNT, BCL11B, DICER1, ELK4, TCF12, TCF7L2, ARID1A, ARNT, BCL11B, DICER1, ELK4, TCF12 and TCF7L2 (Figure 8). The gene discussed is ELK4; the disease is thyroid gland carcinoma.
