NFKB1 and acute kidney injury: On day 7 post-treatment, the NF-κB p65 levels in the urinary sediment cells were significantly increased in both groups of complicated P. falciparum malaria patients (without AKI = 0.33 ± 0.02; with AKI = 0.48 ± 0.02), compared with the healthy controls (0.25 ± 0.01; p = 0.001, p <0.001, respectively).
