ANO1 and cancer: Furthermore, treatment with CaCCinh-A01 decreased ANO1 protein levels in Te11 parental, wild type cells but did not affect ANO1 protein levels in the CaCCinh-A01-resistant cell pool (Fig. 6C), providing an explanation for the lack of effect on cell proliferation and demonstrating that promotion of ANO1 degradation is responsible for the effect of CaCCinh-A01 on proliferation of ANO1-amplified cancer cells.
