LGALS1 and metastatic malignant neoplasm in the lymph nodes: Galectin-1 staining intensity in stromal cells was significantly associated with increase in tumor size (pT3/pT4 vs. pT1/pT2, p = 0.018), perineural invasion (Positive vs. Negative p = 0.048), tumor stage (stage II vs. stage I, p = 0.007), differentiation (p = 0.021) and presence of lymph node metastasis (pN1 vs. pN0, p = 0.041), this association was not observed with other parameters (Table 1).
