Galectin-1 has also been involved in PSCs activation, proliferation and chemokine production[9], [35], which in turn stimulate the malignant potency of pancreatic cancer cells and establish a vicious cycle of mutually reinforcing mechanisms to sustain the activity of the stromal reaction[43], [44] and promotes the malignant behavior of PDAC (illustrated as Figure 7).
