The obtained results demonstrated that the TcI group in a single infection could be detected in all studied intestinal tract regions of R. prolixus, except in the small intestine at 21 daf (Figure 3), corroborating the results of the parasite density in Figure 1A. In contrast to C45/TcI, JCA3/TcII mini-exon amplicon intensity increased at 21 daf (Figure 3), thereby also reflecting our microscopy results (Figure 1B). The gene discussed is TCN2; the disease is infection.
