Other reports indicate that total adiponectin levels are significantly lower in obese women compared to nonobese women at the same postmenopausal stage, and it could be inferred that adiponectin is a potential biomarker of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women [25, 26], and this paper attempts to verify this one hypothesis against the available literature data.
