The most common mutations linked to an earlier onset of cancer are the BRCA 1 and 2 mutations and a large number of additional genes including STK11, CDH1, PTEN, TP53.22 Genes related to an early onset of cancer are frequently related to an increased sensitivity to ionizing radiation and this may be the reason for the observed higher number of chromosomal breaks.
