Previous research studies have confirmed that HMGB1 is closely related with tumorigenesis, metastasis, and angiogenesis in a variety of malignancies, such as breast cancer [21], melanoma [22], gastric cancer [23], and colorectal cancer [24].An overexpression of HMGB1 occurs due to two main reasons: KIT mutation and genes instigating tumour growth and invasion [25]. This evidence concerns the gene HMGB1 and gastric cancer.
