Although many forms of posttranscriptional regulation are not obvious from RNA-level studies, it is noticeable that transcripts for nine of the listed targets (BDNF, CCND2, IGFBP5, NFAT5, NOTCH3, OTX2, SH3BGRL3, TIMP3, and TPPP) are downregulated in muscle biopsies from ALS patients ([70], EBI-EMBL Expression Atlas ID E-GEOD-3307). This evidence concerns the gene TIMP3 and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
