We observed that the canonical pathways enriched by hyperglycemia were mainly involved in carbohydrate and lipid metabolism (TR/RXR activation and PXR/RXR activation pathways), as well as in inflammatory signaling (crosstalk between dendritic cells and natural killers cells; primary immunodeficiency signaling; caveolar-mediated endocytosis signaling; cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-mediated apoptosis of target cells) (Figure 1-A).
