In cancer, the NUP98/JARID1A gene fusion has been described as a cryptic translocation involved in pediatric acute megakaryoblastic leukemia [169], and additionally the JARID1A locus was identified in a recent GWAS analysis as a susceptibility gene in ankylosing spondylitis [170]. The gene discussed is KDM5A; the disease is acute megakaryoblastic leukemia.
