Homeodomain transcription factor PAX8, transcription of which has been identified as an important biomarker in distinguishing various tumor types (reviewed in [29]), presented another particularly interesting case of overlap between the various types of relationships (Figure 13B), where CpG probes located near the gene’s TSS were unexpectedly positively correlated with the gene expression and those located in its body were negatively correlated. This evidence concerns the gene PAX8 and neoplasm.
