The retrospective analysis of a 20 years series of colonic resections for malignancy, specifically focused on patients which were diagnosed to have a colorectal cancer less than 50 years old, confirms that the preoperative identification of patients with Lynch Syndrome, by the immunohistochemical determination of the MMR proteins expression, may have a great immediate clinical relevance [26], leading to a correct surgical and global care strategy. Here, MRC1 is linked to Lynch syndrome.
