Examination of the 120 human carotid plaques showed that the extent of ALOX15B staining correlated with staining for the macrophage marker CD68 (rs = 0.45, P<0.0001), as expected, and was higher in carotid plaques with thrombosis compared with no thrombosis (Figure 1A, B). This evidence concerns the gene ALOX15B and Venous thrombosis.
