Because the effects of anti-VEGF agents in the eye are more short lived and because previous studies on other ocular diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration, suggested a loading dose of three injections [27], our study included three bevacizumab injections one month apart and a single dose of triamcinolone to maintain the effects of these drugs for the same length of time. The gene discussed is VEGFA; the disease is age-related macular degeneration.
