The PITX1 LI was 52.3±8.40 (mean ± SD) in the cases of oral epithelial dysplasia that did not undergo malignant transformation (P<0.01) and 29.4±9.40 in those that did (Fig. 3), and the difference was significant (P<0.01). The gene discussed is PITX1; the disease is dysplastic oral keratinocyte.
