As compared with individuals at low probability of liver fibrosis, both individuals at high probability of fibrosis and individuals at intermediate probability of fibrosis showed an unfavorable cardio-metabolic risk profile having significantly higher values of waist circumference, insulin resistance, as assessed by the HOMA-IR index, hsCRP, fibrinogen, serum uric acid as well as lower levels of IGF-1 (Table 1). This evidence concerns the gene IGF1 and fibrosis.
