Some studies have found the HLA class II DRB1*1501 and/or DQB1*0602 (two alleles that are in perfect linkage disequilibrium [LD] and often occur on the same haplotype in Europeans) 5,6 as well as class I HLA-B*077–9 to increase risk of cervical disease, while other studies have failed to confirm these associations 10–12 and some have even found inverse associations 8,13,14. Here, HLA-DRB1 is linked to cervicitis.
