Initial studies in ragweed (RW)-sensitized dogs, demonstrated that the selective TLR8 agonist VTX-378 improved nasal congestion in a dose-dependent manner (P14, Barrett et al). In a subsequent human clinical study, VTX-1463 demonstrated significant improvements in Total Nasal Symptom Score (TNSS, sum of scores for nasal congestion, itching, sneezing and rhinorrhea) in grass pollen allergic subjects in season. The gene discussed is TLR8; the disease is Nasal congestion.
