One previous study reviewed the effect of marine-derived n-3 PUFAs on inflammatory markers in randomized controlled trials, and found that only few studies showed a significant lowering effect on CRP, IL-6 and TNF-α in healthy subjects, and that the lowering effect of marine-derived n-3 PUFAs was significant on CRP and IL-6 in subjects with a presence or high risk of cardiovascular disease [23]. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and cardiovascular disorder.
