Interestingly, ENO1, LDHA, and Hsp27, AHNAK have been reported in other malignancies to be upregulated in serum of cancer patients, compared to healthy controls: serum ENO1 was elevated in patients with small-cell lung carcinoma; and high serum LDH was linked with significantly poor survival of colorectal cancer[27]; high level of Hsp27 was present in serum from patients with breast cancer[28]; and serum AHNAK level was elevated in patients with ovarian cancer[29]. This evidence concerns the gene HSPB1 and small cell lung carcinoma.
