Some of the drugs which we found to be associated with type 1 diabetes are known to influence glucose tolerance and insulin secretion e.g. beta blockers, thiazide diuretics, niacin, corticosteroids, pentamidine, protease inhibitors, atypical antipsychotics [29], calcium channel blockers, cyclosporine, phenytoin, lithium, beta adrenergic agonists, morphine, dapsone, nalidixic acid and rifampicin [30].
