Expression of IGF-1R has been shown to correlate with an unfavorable prognosis in several types of cancer, e.g. in advanced oral squamous cell carcinoma [30], but also with a favorable prognosis in studies in breast cancer [31]–[33], non small cell lung cancer [34] and soft tissue sarcoma [35]. The gene discussed is IGF1R; the disease is non-small cell lung carcinoma.
