These findings reinforce the idea that the blunted response to the prednisolone suppression test, observed in PTSD group, could be related to the decrease of basal cortisol levels and GR super-sensitivity, and reveal that the quality of parental bonding, during childhood and adolescence, could significantly influence HPA-axis reactivity through their impact on the stress response. This evidence concerns the gene NR3C1 and post-traumatic stress disorder.
