POU5F1 and glioma: We provide direct evidence for another ‘non metabolic' role of PKM2 during glioma differentiation, which occurs through its interaction with Oct4, a major regulator of cell pluripotency.24, 25 We also report that a small molecule, the Dichloroacetate (DCA), which has been found to be active against several tumors26, 27 induce differentiation through the modulation of PKM2/Oct4 interaction.
