The prognostic value of PTEN was also explored through the evaluation of PTEN gene copy number alteration (CNA) assessed by a Taqman assay by Price and colleagues in a cohort of 302 patients with advanced CRC enrolled in the AGITG MAX trial, a randomized Phase III trial of capecitabine ± bevacizumab or mitomycin C. The authors did not find any correlation between PTEN status and progression free survival (PFS) or OS in multivariate analysis (42). The gene discussed is PTEN; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
