Analysis of clinical tissue samples from peritoneal metastases arising from gastric cancers provides evidence that RUNX3 expression decreased significantly in the metastatic tissue, compared to normal gastric mucosa or primary main tumors.([10]) Importantly, the decrease in RUNX3 protein expression is significantly associated with poor survival of gastric cancer and melanoma patients [11], [12]. This evidence concerns the gene RUNX3 and melanoma.
