The best characterized is known as SLC2A4 regulator (SLC2A4RG), GLUT4 enhancer factor (GLUT4EF) or Huntington’s disease binding protein 1 (HDBP1), which can bind to the promoters of Huntington’s disease gene [28] and GLUT4[29] and is a candidate locus for increased risk to Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis [30], [31].
