After pdmH1N1 virus infection, cigarette smoke exposed mice had significantly higher production of IL-1α, IL-1β, IL-2, IFN-γ, KC, RANTES on day 3; IL-5, IL-10 and MIP-1α both on day 1 and day 3 in the lungs than the control mice. This evidence concerns the gene IL5 and viral infectious disease.
