Recent findings have implicated ANGPTL4 in the regulation of wound healing, tumor cells survival, protection against cardiac infarction, and free fatty acids-induced oxidative stress, in which ANGPTL4 receptors integrins and the associated downstream phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K)/Akt (also known as protein kinase B) and extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 (ERK1/2) signaling pathways are also involve in protecting MSCs from apoptosis [12], [13], [21]–[23].
