Hs-CRP levels were significantly augmented in smokers (median mg/L [IQR]: 1.1 [0.6;2.4] vs. 0.7 [0.4;1.5], p = 0.001) and a trend was seen in patients with diabetes (1.1 [0.4;2.3] vs. 0.8 [0.4;1.4], p = 0.06). Here, CRP is linked to diabetes mellitus.
