Since c-Myc has been reported to be involved in both cell apoptosis and cell transformation, our results will provide us important insight into understanding arsenite's carcinogenic and anti-cancer effects, which might be due to either the threshold value for c-Myc induction and levels or the c-Myc crosstalk with the induction of other key proteins, such as cyclin D1, COX-2 and GADD45α that have been documented in our published studies [36, 38].
