Adoptive transfer of those cells into severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID) or naïve BALB/c mice induced the development of airway neutrophilia and AHR accompanied by increased expression of IL-17 and neutrophil chemoattractants such as CXCL 5, CXCL8, and G-CSF, after OVA challenge. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL8 and severe combined immunodeficiency.
