Many studies have reported that elevated CRP levels are indicative of a poor outcome in a variety of cancers.16–18 For example, Wong et al.20 reported that an elevated preoperative CRP is a predictor of poor outcome in patients undergoing curative resection for CRLM Ishizuka et al.31 reported that in multivariate analysis, elevated CRP levels as well as the number of metastatic tumors were associated with cancer-specific death. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and metastatic neoplasm.
