We analyzed several of the imprinted genes involved in obesity, in adipocytes of mice fed a control diet and mice fed a HFD, and found that the paternal transmission of obesity correlated with the expression of the imprinted genes, Igf2 and Peg3, which might contribute to the symptoms associated with obesity. The gene discussed is PEG3; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
