VEGFA and neoplasm: The inflammatory cytokines cause the phosphorylation of IκB, which in turn releases NF-κB, which subsequently translocates into the nucleus and affect the expression of target genes having key roles in the inhibition of apoptosis, promotion of tumour growth, and activation of inflammatory responses which further promotes the metastasis by increasing the expression of vasucular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) [8].
