We have previously described that intracellular distribution of LOXL2 is mainly cytoplasmic and/or perinuclear (Peinado et al., 2005a) and that perinuclear staining is a poor prognosis marker in larynx squamous cell carcinomas (Peinado et al., 2008) and associated to metastasis of basal-like breast tumors (Moreno-Bueno et al., 2011). The gene discussed is LOXL2; the disease is respiratory tract neoplasm.
