Our finding that A12 stimulates the secretion of IL-4 and IL-10 in GALT tissues, leading to suppression of arthritis, is consistent with evidence from other animal models, showing that release of IL-10 and IL-4 [17] inhibits inflammatory bowel disease [21], experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis [22], and diabetes [17].
