IgG anti-lactoferrin is one of the induced autoantibodies in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (Kida et al., 2011), systemic lupus erythematosus (Caccavo et al., 2005), ulcerative colitis (Peen et al., 1993; Teegen et al., 2009), cholangitis (Muratori et al., 2001), and many other chronic diseases. The gene discussed is LTF; the disease is systemic lupus erythematosus.
