Morphological abnormalities of dendritic spines are reported in a variety of neurological diseases such as Fragile-X mental retardation syndrome and Alzheimer's neurodegenerative disease [60], [61], and notably functional interaction of FMR1, a causative gene of Fragile-X syndrome, with Lgl is reported in Drosophila[62]. The gene discussed is FMR1; the disease is fragile X syndrome.
