In contrast, in the Ewing sarcoma cells TC-71, SK-N-MC and 6647, showing a truncation (TC-71) or major deletions (SK-N-MC) inactivating p53 transcriptional activity, or carrying the single point mutation S241F in the DNA binding domain which retains part of the wt-p53 activity (6647), metformin treatment led to accumulation of cells in G1 phase (Figure 3D).
