Reduced expression of gap junction genes has been demonstrated in several human cancers, including gastric cancer (CX32) [14], prostatic adenocarcinoma (CX43) [15], brain glioma (CX43) [16], breast cancer (CX43) [17], and lung cancer (CX32 and CX43) [18].
