We have previously shown that the HPV induced cervical dysplasia in patients with decreased serum levels of IFN-γ and IFN-α while increasing the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines, TNF-α and IL-1β, and cytokine Th-2 type, IL-4 [9,15]. The gene discussed is IFNA1; the disease is cervical intraepithelial neoplasia.
