When stratified by cancer types, significantly increased risks of TLR4 rs4986790 were found in digestive cancers (allele comparison: OR = 1.79, 95% CI: 1.14–2.81, P = 0.001 for heterogeneity test; dominant model: OR = 1.76, 95% CI: 1.13–2.73, P = 0.003 for heterogeneity test) and female-specific cancers (allele comparison: OR = 1.44, 95% CI: 1.14–1.83, P = 0.641 for heterogeneity test; dominant model: OR = 1.50, 95% CI: 1.16–1.94, P = 0.537 for heterogeneity test), but not in blood cancers or male-specific cancers (Table 3). This evidence concerns the gene TLR4 and hematopoietic and lymphoid system neoplasm.
